Fashion lovers how you doing?

 Did you all love the fashion at the MET Gala that took place on Monday, who was your best dressed, please check out our instagram page to see pics of who wore what.

The pom pom trend has caught my eye and I'm loving it because I believe an accessory always makes an outfit look major HAUTE adding that distinctive touch and with an over-sized pom pom you will never go wrong. I spotted Mira Duma  recently at this season's Spring 2013 Couture shows, loved every outfit but what stood out to me was the pom poms she she had on her coats and I knew instantly that its gonna be a trend that will follow but most important I thought it was a  very fashionable and cute way to accessorize your winter coats and beanies adding some glamour, and a playfull edge.

As I did my research I learned that the particular  fur pom pom is actually a brooch from Russian designer Viva Vox fall 2012 collection which were feature on the front and shoulders of coats.

                                                                                                            

So all we accessorising our coats this winter with some over-sized pom pom or something unique like that to add a playful edge even if its a DIY ? Please comment below and let me know what you think of this trend

Hello everyone

Its Fashion Friday so keep your eyes on the blog for the #5DaySwag post coming later today..excited much?  Its been rather chilly the past few days and I just realised that I havnt stocked my closet with winter must-haves and this season I need to get myself a College Jacket not just because its the hottest item for Winter but its an item I always wanted especially in Matric but that never happened too much television i tell you.

 

This jacket can be worn in a casual way and to add some edge to you chic outfit adding the jacket would do wonders.

Trend Alert: The Houndstooth Pattern

Greetings beautiful people....... :)

You must know by now that i love prints\patterns....and setting the trend of patterns next season is the large checked pattern with notched corners suggestive of a canine tooth or as the French call it, pied de pole (chickens foot). This trend can be seen on everything from coats, dresses, shoes, skirts and many accessories. Believe it or not this classy and chic pattern has been on the fashion scene since the 1800's *shocker* and now its back making a major splash on runways, magazines spreads, celebrities and obviously stores.

How to wear it........ 

• Since its a busy pattern, i suggest you not mix it up with other prints and pattens.
• Keep accessories very simple...black, silver or pearls

When Salvatore Ferragamo dubbed his A/W 11 collection with a heavy mixture of prints and patterns no one could have anticipated the fashion frenzy the houndstooth would cause and what a success it is, celebs like Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga and Anna Dello Russo all rocking the long-sleeved dressed.

Star Mania

I am a big print lover and i love how the "Star Print" is taking over the fashion world like a heat rash...and we all having mini-heart attacks at how awesome it is and its finding its way into our hearts and wardrobes.
Not so long ago during Milan Fashion Week, Italian fashion duo, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabanna sent gorgeous starved looking models down the runway in boy suits accessorized with piano keys ties, role-playing, fabric swapping and silhouette challenging designs that dominated the show with the star-print.
To be honest star print is not a new motif to fashion but affluent use of them makes a totally different statement.As per usual its celebrities that and fashion freaks leading the way with the cute but oh-so-sexy  star-print especially the Dolce & Gabanna  which have been popping up at every corner.
