FASHION NEWS: COTTON ON TO HIT THE SHORES OF THE V&A WATERFRONT

MEDIA RELEASE - In a move set to excite the people of South Africa, leading Australian retail brand, Cotton On, is thrilled to announce their new store opening at the V&A Waterfront on 30 May 2014.  The launch will mark the Group’s 100th store in South Africa.

At 1500 square metres, the new Cotton On store will be the largest in the Western Cape and will offer collections from Cotton On, Cotton On Body, Free and Rubi Shoes. The stable of Cotton On Group brands will deliver on-trend basics and fun, affordable fashion which South Africans have come to know and love.

Since opening their first store in 1991 in Australia, the Cotton On Group has been rapidly growing with no plans to slow down. Now with over 1300 stores in 16 countries, the Cotton On Group maintains its commitment to reach more people across the globe.  The Australian retail giant has been operating in South Africa since 2011.

Free by Cotton On, which launched in South Africa in 2013, will be available at the new V&A store catering to the free-spirited, independent minded boys and girls (9-14 yrs) who have outgrown the kids range and are too young for adults, but want to wear a brand that allows them to express their individuality and have fun with their fashion. Free by Cotton On makes it easier for South African parents who struggle to make a transition from Cotton On Kids to finding a brand that they feel is appropriate for their “tweens” to wear.

“We pride ourselves on the notion that there is something in our stores that absolutely everyone will love. Our aim at every turn is to ensure that whenever our customers walk into any one of our stores, they will leave happy,” explains Cotton On Group Country Manager, Johan van Wyk.
The new Cotton On store will open its doors on 30 May 2014, operating daily from 9am – 9pm, and will be located at Shop 146B V&A Waterfront, Victoria Wharf.

Totes exciting...

MUST SEE LOOKS: CANNES FILM FESTIVAL 2014

Cannes!!! Cannes!! Cannes!!!
Here are some must-see looks from last week's 67th annual Cannes film festival. Blake Lively is my favourite, I love the Chanel tea length sparkly number. I'm obsessed with the pockets and synched in waist, the sheer illusion and the mint almost white colour completely wins my heart. The styling is great, not over accessorized. Her hair is sexy and gorgeous, make-up; minimal. Perfection!!!!

LOOK 1: Blake Lively in Chanel

LOOK 2: Uma Thurman in Marchesa.

Look 3: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Gucci.

Look 4: Eva Longoria in Emilio Pucci.

Look 5: Cate Blanchett in Givenchy

Chanel x Resort 2014

Hello...My Fashion Lovers :)

Last week the extraodiare Karl Lagerfield decided to unveil the Chanel Resort collection in Dubai, on a  lavish private island on the 13th of May 2014. We all know he likes to do this over the top and this in my opinion is by far the most over the top event, like who rents a whole island just for a fashion show well Chanel did and they set the standard by far and defiantly the most valuable invite ever. I would have given my right lung just to crack that guestlist.

The Chanel Resort 2015 Show unfurled at dusk in a gold-and-glass structure, which was constructed just for this event and boasted a lattice of woodwork that held the Chanel logo in the traditional style of mashrabiya windows. Outside, the man-made island was blanketed in romantic candles and shisha tents, giving view to the incredible skyline of Dubai. Its roof supported by a forest of artificial palms, on a man-made island offering a view of one of the most futuristic skylines in the world.  “With the highest building, I thought there was a reason to show the highest fashion, ha-ha-ha-ha,” Lagerfield said during a fitting.

The show was kept very traditionally as to how the Arabs do things, the show began at dusk, and was the embodiment of Arabian Nights–the venue laden with cushions and low lantern-lit tables to reflect the relaxed Arab-style Majlis seating.

The collection is sheer luxury and exudes fashion-forward bohemian glamour with harem pants, hair brooches, mirrored accessories and nail-less gloves which of cause will be trending next summer.
I loved the satin pointy flats, abayah styled layers and obviously the gold quilted petrol can bag like who would have thought of such

I am sure that you loving this amazing collection

Thank you for reading and have a loving evening

Mule It

Hey there
With Fashion always doing its comebacks one can always predict what will be trending next but with this next trend I totally forgot about it and just didn't forsee a comeback.
Mule, is a style of shoe that is backless and often closed-toed. Mules can be any heel height - from flat to high. The style is predominantly (but not exclusively) worn by women. It's is a classic shoe that you can wear with anything and everything, especially when its warm, they are the easiest shoes to slip on come day or night. Heeled mules especially look great with cropped trousers or midi skirts because they don’t have an ankle strap cutting up the silhouette.
To be honest I am not excited about it even thou I have seen really amazing chic mules from pointy to peeptoe on blogsphere it just does not scream..." You need me"
You might agreee with me and say this trend we should all miss but one thing I can asure you is that .....the mule is here to stay for probably the next two seasons. Mules from various designers, styles and colour were gracing the runway so its safe to say they may be dubbed the " IT-Shoe" for 2014 Carrie Bradshaw would be so proud

So do you think we should start a campaign so that designers can stop making mules happen??
