Bright Lips

Hey Fashion Lovers

There is not anything new about women loving a bold bright lip, however, in summer its more acceptable to experiment with colours that may not be normally accepted during other seasons of the year.
This seasons delicious sugary pinks, shocking flash of red, peach, cherry and violet lip shades are fast becoming the most modern way to work a summer lip. A bright lip is so easy to wear , it instantly uplifts your outfit.

How to successfully rock this trend
  •  Make sure your skin is picture perfect
  • To keep the attention on your perfect pout, keep the rest of your makeup simple. Just a dash of eyeliner and mascara on the eyes and smooth sun-kissed skin and you are ready for a summer close-up.
  • Exfoliate your lips...this might sound wrong but its as easy as just rubbing a toothbrush with water over your lips to make them smooth.
  • Prime your lips
  • Line your lips
  • Add some colour
  • SMILE

All major make-up brands have mouth-watering juicy colours to satisfy your craving for a candy coated shade so choose your favourite and go wild this summer.

Dot to Dot

This is a trend that we all have childhood memories of and guess what......just like most trends this season its coming back with a MAY-JOR BANG thanks to fashion designers like Marc Jacobs for his polka dot print collection at New York Fashion Week !!!
I appreciate the Polka Dot trend now only because its my choice to wear it since my mother did my shopping back then  and because its more grown, sophisticated, fun and elegant this time around...you won't go looking like Minnie Mouse running around Disney.

A fewDotty Pointers:
  • Try this trend in all colours and sizes especially the the huge print for a more fashionable look.
  • Keep your accessories very simple from neural shoes to plain jewelry or one statement piece.
  • When mixing two patterns make sure one is smaller than the other
  • To avoid attracting too much attention keep within the parameters of muted colours such as black white or caramel

Olivia Palermo in a blue and white bubble dress
Do not be afraid of the dotty print and let your playfull side shine through with the Polka Dot trend

Happy Friday

Trend: Tribal Prints

Just like the #ColourBlocking trend.....Tribal Prints is taking over this Spring/Summer, yeah we sticking to our roots this season but keeping it very simple.
The trend consists of strong, graphic prints (black and white graphics mixed with darker prints is a recognizable element) combined with warm, earthy tones (black, browns, deep reds and oranges) and natural accents (straw, wood). Safari looks usually have a khaki jacket, belted with front pockets.
I luuurrve colour and prints so this trend i will most def be rocking, Tribal prints add a funky twist to any ensemble, but do remember to stick to one print at the time, it could be top or bottoms and stick to solid colours when accessorising.

Tribal print rocked the runway for this season,  many designers labels like Mara Huffman, Versace, Vivienne Tam, Missoni, L.A.M.B (see above) incorporated dramatic tribal-inspired and vividly exotic patterns in their collections.
