CFDA FASHION AWARDS 2014: RED CARPET

I live for red carpet moments, if it were up to me my entire house would be built on a red carpet hahaha... Yaasssssss!! After I've caught my breath back from the Riri situation I can now show you the rest of the red carpet looks from the 2014 Council of Fashion Designers of America held last night (June, 2) at the Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center in New York City.

CFDA FASHION ICON OF THE YEAR: Rihanna! Rihanna! Rihanna!

Listen! It was never a secret that Rihanna would receive the 2014 Fashion Icon Of The Year award at last night's CFDA Fashion Awards, we even knew that Anna Wintour would be doing the hand-over. The cat had been out of the bag for weeks, however what was a secret is what BadGalRiri would be wearing. The anticipation had all fashion lovers wondering what the fashion icon would come looking like... WELL... I can safely say we were all NEVER READY for this Adam Selman mesh number, covered in over 200 000 Swarovski crystal it left very little to the imagination.

"We definitely wanted to make it a little bit scandalous. The dress is just fishnet and crystals and a couple of fingers crossed. But fashion is about beauty, and the (female) body is part of that" Selman said to Style.com. And scandalousooo it was, without a shadow of a doubt. Her entire body was on display, breasts, nipples, ass, well of coarse not her flower but most of her was out...lol!

My thoughts: Look!... Rihanna has a banging body, if she wants to walk around naked reminding us what we will never look like and how almost perfect her body is, she is more than welcome. This is fashion though, taking risks and giving people something to talk about. I love it. Even though the gown is sheer on steroids, somehow it still looks classy and sophisticated on her. Unlike if someone like Lil Kim had worn it hahaha... (Lil Kim fans don't come for me)

See for yourself...

FASHION NEWS: COTTON ON TO HIT THE SHORES OF THE V&A WATERFRONT

MEDIA RELEASE - In a move set to excite the people of South Africa, leading Australian retail brand, Cotton On, is thrilled to announce their new store opening at the V&A Waterfront on 30 May 2014.  The launch will mark the Group’s 100th store in South Africa.

At 1500 square metres, the new Cotton On store will be the largest in the Western Cape and will offer collections from Cotton On, Cotton On Body, Free and Rubi Shoes. The stable of Cotton On Group brands will deliver on-trend basics and fun, affordable fashion which South Africans have come to know and love.

Since opening their first store in 1991 in Australia, the Cotton On Group has been rapidly growing with no plans to slow down. Now with over 1300 stores in 16 countries, the Cotton On Group maintains its commitment to reach more people across the globe.  The Australian retail giant has been operating in South Africa since 2011.

Free by Cotton On, which launched in South Africa in 2013, will be available at the new V&A store catering to the free-spirited, independent minded boys and girls (9-14 yrs) who have outgrown the kids range and are too young for adults, but want to wear a brand that allows them to express their individuality and have fun with their fashion. Free by Cotton On makes it easier for South African parents who struggle to make a transition from Cotton On Kids to finding a brand that they feel is appropriate for their “tweens” to wear.

“We pride ourselves on the notion that there is something in our stores that absolutely everyone will love. Our aim at every turn is to ensure that whenever our customers walk into any one of our stores, they will leave happy,” explains Cotton On Group Country Manager, Johan van Wyk.
The new Cotton On store will open its doors on 30 May 2014, operating daily from 9am – 9pm, and will be located at Shop 146B V&A Waterfront, Victoria Wharf.

Totes exciting...
