Woolies Bloggers Brekkie
Hello Fashion Lovers...
On Friday 25th September, Woolies opened the newly revamped and refurbished Rosebank store. To launch this gorgeous store in style, Woolies invited a of couple of well-known bloggers and social influencers for a quick walk through; I shared my favourite summer 14 trends with them as they enjoyed some delish Woolies food and then they were surprised with a mini shopping spree afterwards. Yayz!!
Woolies is at the forefront of high street
fashion, as seen in past and current seasons. And events like these reinforces Woolworths’
place as a force to be reckoned with. I’m very proud to be associated with
the Woolies brand, not only is it a brand that I love but its also a brand that speaks to
me and my style.
Needless to say the main topic of discussion was FASHION... duurr!! We had an awesome time .... Check out the pics below...Moi taking the bloggers and influencer through my fave Woolies summer 14 trends. |

Woolies Summer 14 Trends
Hello Beautiful Fashionistas,
Fashion is forever changing, trends replace each other
almost every season and Summer 14 is no different. This season we’ve seen a
great shift from the traditional prints and patterns that we’ve gotten used to
from past summer seasons, such as the floral prints, camouflage, polka dots,
strips and hounds tooth. Summer 14 bring
us a very refreshing twist to prints and patterns. Trending prints this season
include tribal prints, geometric prints, African prints and abstract prints
just to name a few. Woolworths brings us these stunning prints this season in
different styles and trends. I’ve chosen a couple items from Woolworths’ Studio
W, RE and Modern clothing ranges to showcase some of my favourites.
Studio W
1. Geometric Monochrome Jumpsuit
One of the most dominating trends this season, is the
jumpsuit. We’ve seen jumpsuits on almost every international and local runway.
They come in all shapes and lengths; I call it “The rise of the Jumpsuit”
because of its domination of the catwalks. I love this particular one because
of its great silhouette, its synched in at the waistline which give your body
an a beautiful feminine shape and the halterneck gives the illusion of a longer
neck which makes you look taller. It can be dressed up or down. For an evening look
you can pair it with an elegant strappy heel, some jewelry and a clutch and for
daytime laid back look you can throw on some flats and an over-size over the
shoulder bag.
2. Abstract Print Maxi
What would summer be without the maxi-dress?!!! Maxis
over the years have evolved into more that just a cover-up and an easy-throw-on;
they have become trendier and cooler. They are absolutely comfortable and can
be worn at any occasion. This flowy maxi
is great for a number of reasons. One, its awesome colour; orange, which we now
know is the new black. Two, the light flowy fabric is not only perfect for
keeping cool this summer but it also gives it that effortless style and the
print is placed perfect in a way that doesn’t take away from the dress but
enhances it and draws attention to the right places. Lastly, the straps at the
back it gives it a sexy feel without being too revealing and over exposed.
3. Black Strappy Leather Heels
There is something very classic about strappy heels,
we see it make a comeback season after season; each time with a more modern
twist but still maintaining its timeless beauty. Strappy heels are also a great
purchase because they go with almost every outfit and they are perfect to show
off a fresh mani. The Studio W strappy heel comes in the perfect heel height,
which can accommodate different preferences. It has a beautiful detail at the
back to give it some edge. The one thing I love most about it though is the
fact that its made of genuine leather and that will give it a longer life span.
Modern
1. Geo Skater Skirt
Keeping in line with the sports luxe trend that has
currently taken over the world of fashion, the skater skirt is high on the list
of must-have summer items. It is fitted at the waist and flares out into an
A-line shape, which gives it a great silhouette that is flattering for every
body type. Its mini length gives it great movement, a touch of playfulness and a
flirty feel. The Modern range’s version of the skater skirt is awesome because
it flares at the right place and the print makes it trendy, fun and it is heel
and sneaker friendly which s a bonus.
2. Abstract Print Kimono
The advantage of the kimono it is an easy item to
dress up as it normally plays the role of a cover up or a layering piece, because
of it loose fit. However it can take one’s look from normal to chic and very stylish.
The key to styling a printed kimono is to pair it basic staple pieces such as a
basic tee with shorts or you can also wear with boyfriend jeans and a crop top.
Kimonos are also great for the beach; you can wear them over your swimwear for
a more styled look. The abstract print kimono from the Modern range is great
for summer because of the wide sleeves, breezy flow and light fabric texture.
3. Geo Print Luxe Joggers
Gone are the days when joggers were only associated
with words such as workout and training. The evolution of jogger pants has been
the most interesting, from only being worn by gym enthusiast to now being a
staple piece in most fashionistas’ wardrobes. Today we see them in many
different styles, lighter fabrics and all kinds prints. However what makes this
piece fashionable is the street edge and laid-back coolness. The jogger is very
accommodating, as it suits all body type if done right. Ways to get the jogger
look correct is by first getting the right fit, you don’t want to go too loose
because it will lose its chicness. You also don’t want too tight because it
will then lose the aesthetic as a jogger. Picking the right print or pattern
also plays a big role in getting the jogger look right. The Modern range’s geo-print
jogger has the perfect print to go with any styling, the fabric is right for
summer and boarding panel along the sides gives it edge and uniqueness. Heels
are a great way to dress it up for a more glam look and loafers or brogues for
more chilled vibes.
RE:
1. Patched Boyfriend Jeans
Every season there are certain staple pieces that you
can almost guarantee will make a return time and time again, the boyfriend
jeans definitely fall in that category. Why do we love boyfriend jeans? Aside
from being ultra chic and fashionable, boyfriend jeans have more room than
fitted jeans, which make them super comfortable and relaxed. They can be
dressed up with a great pair of stilettos for a fun night out or down paired
with sneakers for that sport luxe feel. This RE pair has a great slim fit while
still maintaining its bagginess around the hips, the contrast of the lighter
patched pattern against the darker base gives it a young funky feel, and you
can roll up the bottom for a more street style vibe which is pretty fab.
2. Zipped Crossbody bag
Accessories make or break an outfit. If you have too
much accessories on your look can border on tacky and if you have minimal your
look can sometimes look unfinished. Bags are a great way to accessorise ones
look. Cross body bags are awesome for when you don’t want to carry too much things
with. I absolutely love them for concerts, festivals and markets. This fabulous
RE bag is a great take on the crossbody bag. The adjustable strap is convenient
because it gives you the option to wear it over the shoulder. The bold zip
detail gives it a cool punk feel that would go great with shorts, boots,
oversize top and a peak cap for those Coachella vibes.
3. Ripped Boyfriend Denim Shorts
This is a hot summer trend, one of my very fave… Can I
put my neck on the line and say these will never get out of fashion? Ok… maybe never
is a strong word but we can safely say we are going to see these for more seasons
to come. They are playful, versatile, relaxed and great all around summer. This
RE pair is perfect for summer, they are ripped but not overly done to the point
of tackiness and the colour is awesome because it allows you play around with
different looks, the rolled up cuffs are also a great addition.
Those are favourite fashion trends for Summer 14!
Happy shopping!
Ta! Ta!
